Treatments and Contraindications
Reiki is a hands off treatment that works by activating the body's natural self-healing abilities and helps to encourage the body to heal itself. As with all holistic healing, the extent to which Reiki can help a particular issue at a particular time depends on many factors, but there is a guarantee that Reiki can do no harm. As a natural form of healing Reiki can support and enhance other forms of treatment. Reiki practitioners are not trained in diagnosis and will not offer any diagnosis or prognosis
If people are concerned about their symptoms they should see a doctor. Clients may or may not feel sensations during a Reiki treatment. Benefits reported by clients/patients include deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of well being on all levels.
Animals respond very well to Reiki and will find their own levels for what they need. With this in mind, pet reiki may take ten minutes or an hour dependant on the animal and what it is prepared to take and what it needs. The intelligent nature of Reiki takes the healing where it's needed, so it works very well remotely. Remote healing is used where clients are unable to travel, or live too far away. Reiki should never be used as a diagnosis or medical substitute. It only works alongside veterinary treatment, not instead of.
For 3,000 years Chinese practitioners have used reflexology to re-balance Qi (the life force flowing through energy channels) to treat a number of conditions. It can work alongside conventional Western medical medicine to promote healing and improve wellbeing and vitality. Reflexology can be an immensely relaxing experience and can help improve mood, aid sleep and relieve tension and anxiety. The result is an overall sense of wellbeing. Reflexology works on the principles that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which are believed to correspond to all organs and parts of the body.
